Sponsored by the Rotary club of Adoni town and supported by noble philanthropists and benevolent businessmen, The Adoni Arts & Science College was started in 1962 under affiliation to Sri.Venkateshwara University, Tirupati. When I go down the annals of my memory, I nostalgically recall the untiring efforts of many noble souls who fondly cherished the dream of establishing an Institution of Higher Learning in Adoni, a rural and agro-based town with great potential for business to provide gainful marketing avenues. The efforts of all well meaning benefactors culminated in the realization of the dream as early as in 1962. Thanks to the untiring efforts of the then MLA Sri.H.Seetha Ram Reddy, the Government of Andhra Pradesh had sanctioned the benefit of Grant-in-Aid to the Institution with effect from the very inception of the college i.e. 1962-63.
Since then, the college made vast strides in providing quality higher education for many generations over the past forty nine years. The Management of the college has provided all the necessary structural support while the faculties have endeavored to imbibe the requisite textural magnificence through their committed service to the cause of academic excellence.
It is a matter of great pride and joy that the college is completing 50 years of its glorious service and it calls for a befitting celebration to make this milestone very memorable to inspire the posterity. I am greatly honored to have been able to serve this noble Institution as the Chairman of the Managing Committee for the last two decades and right up to the eventful Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
I wish Grand Success of the Event and I earnestly pray for a LONG INNINGS for the Institution in its glorious path of service to illuminate the lives of many more generations.
Coming together is a Beginning, Staying together is Progress and working together is Success’. These words of ‘Henry Ford’ have transformed into reality in the case of ‘The Adoni Arts & Science College’, an educational institution sponsored by the Rotary club of Adoni, way back in 1962, signaling a new Era, not only to provide higher education to the underprivileged in this backward region at undergraduate level, but also to inculcate the skills that go beyond text books, to create a better life for all.
Service above Self’, the motto of Rotary Organization, instills in me so much confidence, pride & happiness, when I realize that each one of us associated with this college, is on the path ahead to take this prestigious institution to the newer heights, which we actually deserve for all our 49+years of remarkable contribution to the institution and the society at large, in moulding our wards into better citizens of tomorrow.
Golden Jubilee’ is a solemn, yet proud occasion. While the institution celebrates its glorious existence over the last 50 years, it is an opportune time to reflect on the past and also plan for the future. Our college has served the student community with great destination. I sincerely believe that we cannot be satisfied with the past and I sincerely hope that the best is yet to come and that the coming years would be still more productive, innovative in providing quality education to the underprivileged. I strongly believe that it is important for all of us associated with this institution either as administrators or faculty, being the torch bearers of this institution to be like the Lamp that diffuses light and warmth on all.
It gives me immense pleasure and makes me feel proud in being associated with this prestigious institution as Auditor of the college in the formative years, later as member of the Governing Body, Joint Secretary and now as Secretary & Correspondent since 2005. My period as Correspondent of this college saw several achievements such as NAAC Accreditation, Award of CPE Status (One of the 149 colleges in the entire country).
Our college has made vast strides on the path of governing over past five decades. Thanks to the support of UGC, we have been able to improve the infrastructure of the institution. The College Management has been contributing their mite to the overall development of the Institution, since its inception. It is a matter of great pride that the college has been accredited with B++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Another glorious feather in the cap of the college is that the college has been conferred with the status of “College with Potential for Excellence” under which we have enough scope and opportunity to address various quality aspects in the field of Higher Education.
"Well equipped library, upgraded science laboratories, e-class room, E-learning center, networking of all the wings of the college, up graded English language lab, JKC Training center, Placement Cell etc, are some of the facilities made available to the students of our college. Construction of Golden Jubilee Block and establishment of indoor and outdoor stadia are in progress.
I appeal to the people of Adoni, philanthropists, and strong alumni of the college to support us in serving the educational needs of mostly rural and economically backward students in and around Adoni in a better way in future as well.
